Deadman Theatre presents

Damien Nettles

Thu 27 May 2027

A grieving mother’s fight to find her son. Do you know what happened to Damien Nettles?

On 2nd November 1996, 17 year old Damien Nettles was dropped off by his parents, headed to a party and night out with his friends. This was to be the last time he was seen alive by either of them. His disappearance and its reasons have long been disputed but, as his mum Valerie says, “someone out there knows.”

On the 30th anniversary of Damien’s disappearance, this exhilarating and compelling production will take you on a powerful and emotional ride. Do you know what happened to Damien Nettles?

In 2027, following 3 years of research and development at Poole Lighthouse, Mayflower Studios and Quay Arts, Deadman’s Damien Nettles reaches audiences for the first time. Working with Valerie, charity Missing People as well as experts like Charlie Hedges MBE, IOW creative arts company Deadman, incorporating new technology, verbatim text and documentary evidence will bring their bold and ambitious second production to audiences across the region.

Returning to audiences following sold out performances in 2026, Deadman’s new production is highly anticipated and multi-faceted. With IOW and regional talent at its heart, Damien Nettles will continue Deadman’s work exploring the darker underbelly of our coastal communities. A disappearance widely believed to be connected to local drug dealers. An unknowable community that at once looks to help also muddies the water. An intransigent police force that will become one of the first sued for historic sexism and misogyny, and a local authority that would rather this whole thing was swept under the carpet.
