PIPELINE: Masterclass

Our Pipeline Social events, held monthly, are informal sessions in the Sherling Studio and hosted by a writer for the purpose of networking, chat (both from the writing and performing point of view!) and other performance write-ly things! Other events, which are open to all, include presentations of new work, usually script in-hand, that bring writers and actors together. These include Pipeline Remix and Pipeline Rapid Response. We also present Pipeline Masterclass with acclaimed playwrights, screenwriters, actors and all those involved in the making of new work.

Plus special guests, Sir Richard Eyre and Lisa Mayer

Acclaimed theatre and film director, Sir Richard Eyre, speaks about his work with writers across six decades. From his early work commissioning writers to his time as Artistic Director of the National Theatre, Richard has championed new work and nurtured the careers of many of the country’s finest playwrights. What does it mean to take an idea from its initial stages through drafts to final production? Why is new work so important? And what can be done to promote a healthy writing culture? Richard will be in conversation with television and film writer Lise Mayer, and together they will talk about their forthcoming film The Housekeeper.
