A struggling primary school teacher begins to make some questionable decisions after one of her students is injured.
This dark comedy thriller stars Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan as teacher Maria, pushed to her breaking point by a chaotic, disruptive student named Danny. She makes a panicked, terrible decision and ends up locking the child in her home. When her classroom suddenly begins to thrive without him, she faces a bizarre and tense moral dilemma.
The film is based on the novel De Oönskade by author Rasmus Lindgren, and while the original book is set in Sweden, the film adaptation has relocated the story to southern England, with Somerset serving as the backdrop.
