There is a special intimacy waiting to be found at one of Simeon Walker’s concerts. His uniquely delicate touch is accompanied by a wry smile, creating engaging, emotionally direct performances in which the piano becomes a meeting place, where shared musical experience fosters dialogue, connection and community.
Versatile and prolific, the Leeds-based pianist and composer has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling voices in contemporary piano music, with his work regularly broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, and streamed over 50 million times worldwide. A seasoned live performer, he tours extensively across the UK and Europe and has supported high-profile artists including Neil Cowley, Submotion Orchestra, Erland Cooper and LYR. He has appeared at major events including Latitude Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe, Manchester Jazz Festival and SXSW London.
Beyond his solo work, Simeon is an accomplished composer, arranger and session musician, collaborating across musical genres and on interdisciplinary art, dance, film, photography and theatre projects. In 2018 he founded, and continues to curate, Brudenell Piano Sessions, a live music series showcasing the breadth and variety of music composed for and performed on the piano. He also sits on the Musicians’ Union Live Advisory Board and is a member of the Featured Artists Coalition Artist Council.
Drawing on a classical foundation and a deep appreciation for jazz, ambient and experimental forms, Simeon’s informal and heartfelt approach reflects the full spectrum of human emotion – music that invites the listener in, offering something for the seasoned concertgoer and first-timer alike.
