The West End comes to Poole this spring as Lighthouse presents a mouthwatering series of high quality, smash hit dramas.

The shows – The Shawshank Redemption, Glorious!, The Woman In Black, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), and The Constant Wife – are on sale now and can be seen at Lighthouse from the end of January to the beginning of May.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our audiences to see headline-making drama on their doorstep,” says Katy Griffiths, Head of Programming at Lighthouse.

“These shows all have a proven track record with stellar casts in each of them. It’s so important that venues like Lighthouse exist to present these exceptional touring productions to local audiences, who would otherwise have to travel for this experience.”

  • The Shawshank Redemption, Tue 27-Sat 31 Jan. Based on Stephen King’s 1982 novella that was adapted for the landmark film, this thrilling stage production examines friendship and hope behind the bars of a maximum-security facility. Joe McFadden (Heartbeat, Holby City) stars with Ben Onwukwe (London’s Burning) and Bill Ward (Coronation Street, Emmerdale).
  • Glorious!, Tue 10- Sat 14 Feb. Dubbed ‘the worst singer in the world,’ Glorious! is the true story of American socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, who was known for her flamboyant costumes, enigmatic performances, and decidedly off-key voice. Starring Wendi Peters (Coronation Street) and Matthew James Morrison (EastEnders), this is the feel-good comedy we’ve been waiting for.
  • The Woman In Black, Tue 17 – Sat 21 Feb. This haunting and hair-raising production of Susan Hill’s chilling ghost story makes a welcome return to Poole. John Mackay (Hamnet, The Crown, Bridgerton) plays Arthur Kipps with Daniel Burke as The Actor.
  • The Talented Mr. Ripley, Mon 16 – Sat 21 Mar. The new adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s iconic psychological thriller that inspired the hit movie stars Ed McVey (The Crown) and EastEnders regular Maisie Smith.
  • The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Tue 21 – Sat 25 April. The worldwide comic phenomenon returns with this updated and reinvented rollercoaster ride through all 37 of the Bard’s plays.
  • The Constant Wife, Mon 27 Apr – Sat 2 May. The RSC production of Somerset Maugham’s glittering comedy adapted by Olivier-winner Laura Wade and starring Strictly Come Dancing winner Kara Tointon (EastEnders, Mr Selfridge) with original music by Jamie Cullum.
