Resident Organisations

Lighthouse regularly plays host to an array of organisations offering workshops, classes and activities for people of all ages.

The Dorset School of Acting is an internationally recognised, reputable Drama School that has been based at Lighthouse since 2010.  The School offers:

A 2 year ESFA FUNDED Level 3 vocational sixth form course in Performing Arts with Acting (OCR) (ages 16-19)

A 1 year Level 4 Trinity diploma in Acting & Musical Theatre (ages 17+)

Weekly youth classes in Acting and Musical Theatre (ages 5+)An 8 week online adult Acting course (ages 18+)

The school is a Trinity and UCAS registered centre and has a high success rate with students gaining places at all major drama & theatre schools including RADA, LAMDA, RCSSD, BOVTS, Rose Bruford, East 15, ALRA, Arts Ed, GSA, Italia Conti & universities such as AUB, Falmouth & Bath Spa.

Poole Leisure Painters:

PLP have been meeting at Lighthouse since 1981 and still meet here each Tuesday and Friday between 10:00 – 15:00.

They are a diverse group, from beginners to experienced artists, who enjoy painting and socialising. All have a love of creating and learning,  members are always happy to share knowledge with others wanting a guiding hand to help advance their creative journey.

Stagewise Theatre School:

Stagewise offer a range of acting, dancing and singing classes for young people on Tuesdays and Saturdays here at Lighthouse.

Albion Language Tours:

Albion offer ever popular foreign exchange programmes throughout the academic year. Lighthouse acts as the central hub for these trips and English Language students can often be found in our Function Rooms.
