Live and Unheard – March

Thu 28 Mar 2024

Hangover Hill and Lighthouse present three more highly rated acts as they have a rare opportunity to experience a larger stage in our monthly unsigned music night.

The Jimmy Hillbillies

With four voices, 16 strings, a solid back-line, a pair of accordions and a didgeridoo, The Jimmy Hillbillies put a rustic shine on some seriously fun, stompingly great hoedown music.

Dorset’s happiest music, hoedown music, has its roots in the country, old-time folk and cow punk of the Dorset music scene. The Jimmy Hillbillies’ high-energy performances rouse their audiences, transporting them to a happy, carefree place where it’s good to sing, dance, stomp and even chicken-conga along to their breakneck tunes.

This is a band that knows how to entertain playing to audiences at large festivals (Camp Bestival, Boomtown, Dorset Steam Fayre), boutique festivals (Wonky Donk, VDub at the Pub, Shake and Stir), beer festivals and the best of Dorset’s fine music venues.

Jason Lloyd Bevis

Jason Lloyd Bevis is a Dorset based artist whose sound comes from many angles, including Rock, Blues, Soul and Americana. With a heavy guitar presence and strong groove, he consistently brings his songwriting alive for the audience. Add to the mix some gritty yet passionate vocals and this will be a performance you won’t want to miss.

Peter Bearder (aka Pete the Temp)

Pete is a singer, comic and spoken word artist whose work has been featured on national and international TV and radio.  He is a former UK Poetry Slam champion and has performed and taught in over 15 countries with organisations that include The British Council.  His mission is to incite a spirit of carnival, wonderment and riotous love.

Please note that Harry Jxye is no longer able to perform at this event.
