Enjoy a summer of cinema for less

Lighthouse Poole is able to offer a summer of cinema for less from this week thanks to the government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme to reduce VAT on family activities.

From tomorrow (Thursday), cinema tickets for under 18s – and anyone in a group that includes at least one person under the age of 18 – will be available at a cheaper price.

“This is a brilliant way for families and young people to enjoy some great films in our cinema this summer,” says Katy Griffiths, Head of Programming at Lighthouse.

“As Poole’s only independent cinema, Lighthouse has programmed a summer packed with cinematic highlights such as Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, the latest instalment of Toy Story and Christopher Nolan’s eagerly anticipated epic, The Odyssey, as well as our popular Parent & Baby screenings.”

Through the Great British Summer Savings scheme, from 25 June until 1 September VAT on children’s entertainment has been reduced from 20% to 5%. Lighthouse customers are able to access this saving when booking cinema tickets, provided at least one person in the group is under the age of 18, by applying the offer code GBFAMILY when booking.
