Work Experience at Lighthouse – 2026
Lighthouse offers an engaging and challenging work experience placement for students. Over the course of the placement, students will learn about a range of roles at Lighthouse, both backstage and front of house with the aim of giving them real-world knowledge and experience of the inner workings of a nationally significant arts centre and of the creative industries in the UK and beyond.
There will be a chance to shadow most departments so that students leave us with an in-depth understanding of the work required across the building to deliver our broad and exciting programme each year. These departments include, Programming, Front of House, Marketing, HR, Fundraising, Creative Engagement and Technical.

The three day sessions available for offer are:
29th April – 1st May 2026
20th May – 22nd May 2026
10th June – 12th June 2026
15th July – 17th July 2026
We have limited spaces and students will be required to attend an interview and discuss why they would like to complete their work experience at Lighthouse. Please note we are unable to offer any other dates outside of these sessions. There will also be three work experience days you may attend throughout 2026 with details to follow soon.

Volunteer at Lighthouse
Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the future of Lighthouse and we always looking for people to join our committed team of volunteers. Giving your time to Lighthouse is great fun and very rewarding. Applicants should want to get involved with activities at Lighthouse and be interested in working with a diverse group of people.
