The Sherling Studio is a recently refurbished studio theatre suitable for small scale performances, rehearsals and talks. Accessed on the ground floor, it is a semi thrust configuration with full lighting and sound. Bench seating on three sides provides audiences with unreserved seating in an intimate setting with lovely acoustics. Seating can be flexible according to the needs of the performance with the front 2 rows of section B and all of section C removable to increase the playing space. The venue has capacity for up to 6 wheelchair users and has full infra-red induction loop for hard of hearing facilities.
The Sherling Studio artistic programme is either created or enable by Lighthouse or is selected carefully by our programming team who choose the artists we collaborate with by seeing the work they have made or knowing the work of the company/artists. The programme is mainly drama with minimal staging production, children’s theatre and world, jazz and folk music – either amplified or acoustic and Stand Up Comedy.
The Sherling Studio is unavailable for private hire unless required as part of a building wide conference hire.
