See something different with Lighthouse Team Pics

A new programme of films that the people who work at Lighthouse love the most, Team Pics launches this autumn with a rare chance for everyone to catch a classic coming-of-age comedy from the 1980s on the big screen.

Screening on Wednesday 24 September from 7.45pm, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (15) is John Hughes’ love letter to the simple joys of everyday life and stars Matthew Broderick in the title role as the brash, cocky high school senior, tired of skipping school to spend a boring day at home, who sets out to enjoy an epic day roaring around his favourite Chicago sites, enlisting his best friend and girlfriend to join him on the adventure.

Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey, Alan Ruck and Jeffrey Jones are among the supporting cast.

Lighthouse Team Pics is a monthly curated selection of brilliant films rarely shown in cinemas. Selected by a different member of the Lighthouse team each month, the screenings are open to the public and will begin with a special introduction.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was picked by Development Co-ordinator George Rogers who explained: “It’s life affirming and never fails to remind me that stopping to enjoy and appreciate life is a necessity.”

Lighthouse Team Pics will always be one-off screenings, so this is your only chance to experience these films on the big screen!
