Lighthouse scooped a coveted Gold award at the Dorset Tourism Awards last week, being named Business Events Venue of the Year.
The award, which saw Lighthouse retain the title it had won in two of the last three years, came at the end of a three-month judging process in which a panel of independent judges visited 72 sites across the county before the winners were announced last Thursday (16 October) at Weymouth Pavilion.
Lucy Funnell, Corporate Development & Events Manager at Lighthouse, says: “There’s no business like showbusiness and this award goes to show that business and culture make a powerful combination.
“Lighthouse works incredibly hard to make sure everyone who comes here has a great experience, whether they come to see a show, attend a conference, take part in a course, or present a trade fair.”
As well as its exciting programme of high quality and diverse arts and entertainment from national, international, and regional artists, Lighthouse has been proud to host an increasing number of commercial and non-artistic for a wide range of clients including Open University, Tops Day Nurseries, LUSH, Women’s Institute, Bournemouth University, Diverse Abilities, NHS Dorset, and Forest Holme.
“Not only is Lighthouse able to support business users deliver their events our clients find that hosting events in an inspirational arts space offers them a welcome change of pace from their usual business environment,” adds Lucy.
