Regulars at Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra concerts may find the members of Solent Ensemble familiar – they are mainly drawn from the BSO.
Robin Green – described by Vladamir Ashkenazy as “a born pianist” – enjoys a busy career as performer and pedagogue, performing a wide range of music from the classical era to ambitious contemporary repertoire. He teaches piano and chamber music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and has been artistic director/guest curator of major festivals including the Harrogate International festival and the Vale of Glamorgan festival. He also plays the Hurdy Gurdy – a talent unlikely to feature at this concert.
