Lighthouse retained its coveted Gold award at the Dorset Tourism Awards last week, being named Business Events Venue of the Year.

The award, which Lighthouse has achieved in four of the last five years, taking silver in 2024, came at the end of a three-month judging process before being announced at the Dorset Tourism Awards last Thursday at the Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth.

Lucy Funnell, Corporate Development & Events Manager at Lighthouse, says: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have retained our Gold title!

“This award goes to show that business and culture make a powerful combination – after all, there’s no business like showbusiness!”

As well as its exciting programme of high quality and diverse arts and entertainment from international, national and regional artists, over the last year Lighthouse has been proud to host meetings, conferences, or events for a range of clients including The Open University, Rockley, Lester Aldridge, BCP Council, HK Law, Bournemouth University, NHS Dorset, Tops Day Nurseries, Diverse Abilities, and Bournemouth & Poole College.

“Lighthouse works incredibly hard to make sure everyone who comes here has a great experience, whether they come to see a show, attend a conference, take part in a course, or present a trade fair,” adds Lucy.

“Not only is Lighthouse able to support business users deliver their events our clients find that hosting events in an inspirational arts space offers them a welcome change of pace from their usual business environment.”
