Luke Wright makes a welcome return to Lighthouse with new material.
The older I get, the more interested I become in the things that survive the noise: friendship, love, memory, blackbirds, blossom, old pubs and the peculiar joy of being alive.
These poems are an attempt to make sense of the state of things without losing my sense of humour. They’re about family, ageing, England, public life and trying not to mistake cynicism for wisdom.
Some of it’s funny. Some of it’s surprisingly emotional. I don’t have any answers, but I’m still trying to say yes.
