PIPELINE: Masterclass

In association with Dorset Scriptwriters

Wed 11 Feb 2026

We’re delighted to welcome actress Alison Steadman for a Pipeline Masterclass. Alison is acclaimed for her stage, television and film roles.

She first came to prominence in television plays Nuts in May and Abigail’s Party, having first originated the role of the monstrous Beverly on stage.  Alison received BAFTA nominations for her roles in The Singing Detective and Fat Friends.  Other television roles include Pride and Prejudice and Gavin & Stacey.  On stage, she has worked at the Royal Court, Hampstead, Nottingham Playhouse, Theatre Royal Bath and the National Theatre.  This event is open to all interested in new work, what actors do and how they do it, and the art of bringing life to characters –  with the opportunity to ask questions of one of the most celebrated British actresses.

Free to writers;  please consider making a donation to support new work and its development.

Duration: 65mins approx.

Pipeline is our series of events to help support writers and new work in Poole and the wider area.  Our Pipeline Social events, held monthly, are informal sessions in the Sherling Studio and hosted by a writer for the purpose of networking, chat (both from the writing and performing point of view!) and other performance write-ly things!  Other events, which are open to all, include presentations of new work, usually script in-hand, that bring writers and actors together.  These include Pipeline Remix and Pipeline Rapid Response.  We also present Pipeline Masterclass with acclaimed playwrights, screenwriters, actors and all those involved in the making of new work.
