The Wintering

Main Gallery

Thu 27 Nov 2025 – Sat 3 Jan 2026

The Wintering will be an interactive and organic installation moving on from the Wilding at CODA.

The gallery space will be transformed into an organic woodland themed installation. A denlike structure will be created within the space as well as a space for workshops. Perfect for mindful moments and interaction, creating a space where people come to “Exhale”.
Carmel De’Lisser known as Cathartic Brush, is a self taught intuitive artist, her work is deeply rooted in symbolism and the journeys we take in transformation and awakenings. “I believe to bare your soul through a creative process is to breathe life into your own story.” Working in “flow state” and using meditation and ritual as part of her practice each piece is direct response to time, place and emotional connection. She is a multi media artist using words, pictures and sculpture to tell stories and explore our connections to the natural and spiritual world and the place it has in our modern lives.
Living and working in Boscombe, Carmel creates safe and inclusive spaces where others can explore their own creativity through wide ranging activities and experiences that foster a sense of self exploration, expression and play. “When we create we find another voice , colours, shapes and forms become words. Emotions flow through us onto the page or through creative mediums. We enable our imagination to grow, to expand far beyond the realms of normalcy (whatever that is.) We may find parts of ourselves we haven’t connected to since our childhoods or we may even greet parts of ourselves we have never met.”
