Dedicated Lighthouse staff are set to go on the run to raise money for the Poole venue’s annual Big Christmas Appeal and give the gift of theatre to those in need.
Development Co-ordinator George Rogers, HR Advisor Jill Gardner, Programme Manager Ashton Corbin, and Music Programmer John Blakeley will take part in the Bournemouth Half marathon challenge on Sunday 12 October.
“It’s four runners, one half marathon, but innumerable lives changed for the better this Christmas,” says George, who will complete the course in his wheelchair.
“Every year, our Big Christmas Appeal helps ensure that people facing disadvantage and financial difficulty don’t miss out on the magic of live theatre.”
The 13.11 mile course boasts a stunning coastal route taking in both Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers. Last year some 4,000 runners took part cheered on by many more spectators.
The run starts at 11am.
