Schools

Lighthouse Academy strives to offer schools opportunities for schools to engage with the wide range of art forms presented at Lighthouse.

Our year-round programme of high quality and diverse arts and entertainment provides wonderful opportunities to bring learning to life, engage with new ideas and stories, and develop confidence, creativity, empathy and curiosity.

To support your visit, our Creative Engagement team are on hand to help facilitate enriching cultural experiences for students, and are always happy to explore workshop opportunities.

Our Partner School scheme provides opportunities for young people, their teachers and their parents to engage with activities including backstage tours, residencies, masterclasses and workshops, work experience, and internships.

If you would like more information about how your school can get involved, email learning@lighthousepoole.co.uk

“Lighthouse is much more than a venue - it is a hub of creativity, inspiration, and opportunity. The workshops and educational programs you offer are tailored to engage young minds, igniting their passion for the arts and empowering them to explore their own potential. Whether through drama, music, dance, or visual arts, the experiences you facilitate open doors for young people to develop skills, confidence, and an appreciation for the arts that will stay with them for a lifetime.”

Lauren Keene, Head of Performing Arts, St Edwards School

“By being a partner school, our students have had access to things that we simply could not provide solely as a school. Students are given aspirational experiences and the opportunity to ask questions that they can’t ask teachers but can ask those working currently in the profession. Some of the talks that our students have experienced have involved adults who themselves attended our school and this is really important that students see that it is possible to work within the arts and locally.”

Belinda Ellicott, Director of Performing Arts, Poole High School

“For teachers, Lighthouse is an invaluable partner. The professional development sessions you provide equip educators with innovative tools and techniques to bring creativity into the classroom. I particularly enjoyed the training day at Lighthouse during Discover! Creative Careers week. It was an exceptional experience, and I found it incredibly beneficial for enhancing my teaching methods and gaining new creative insights for careers in the Arts. Your team’s dedication to supporting teachers ensures that we feel confident and inspired to nurture our students’ talents and broaden their horizons.”
