Relaxed Performance: A relaxed performance takes place at 6pm on Tuesday 20 December.   Tickets can be booked over the phone on 01202 280000 or in person.   One of our team can help you find the best seat for you.  Your essential carer/PA ticket is not charged for.  A relaxed performance is suitable for people with Aspergers, autism or learning difficulties.  It is an opportunity for families to attend together without worrying about how any behaviours may affect other audience members. It is often the case that those attending need more space, for noise to be reduced and to leave the auditorium at any time.

Your carriage awaits as Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, is delighted to announce Cinderella as its enchanting family pantomime this Christmas.

And following the success last year of its first panto produced entirely in-house, long-time Lighthouse friend Chris Jarvis will return to write and direct the show as well as appearing as Buttons.

“I’m really excited to be back at Lighthouse in a traditional comedy version of Cinderella that all the family will love, no matter what their age – everyone shall go to the ball!” says CBeebies star Chris, who revealed that the action is set in Ye Olde Poole where Cinderella is to be found toiling away at the Hardup Hall Hotel where Buttons is the bellboy.

Cinderella will be played by Charlotte Wood, the talented actor who appeared at Lighthouse last year in Beauty and the Beast.

“Charlotte is absolutely amazing,” says Chris. “She was our saving angel last year – as well as appearing in the show in her own role she was understudy for everyone else. That meant she had to know everyone’s part and be ready to go on at a moment’s notice, so I couldn’t be happier that she’s coming back – from understudy to title role in just 12 months. Brilliant!”

The production will also feature real Shetland ponies, as Lighthouse Chief Executive Elspeth McBain confirmed in welcoming Chris back to the fold: “Yes, Cinderella will feature real Shetland ponies as well as the real Chris Jarvis – we can't wait to see him play Buttons!

“Panto is such an intrinsic part of the Lighthouse year and after the ups and downs of the last two years where we presented pantos despite the pandemic, we are making a magical sparkly new production that will bring Joy at Christmas time, across the generations.”
