As night falls, artists and communities will celebrate Poole’s diverse landscape with co-produced light and sound installations illuminating the historic old town, urban high street, and waterfront. Inspired by the theme ‘Spectrum’, artists will respond to difference exploring disability, social exclusion, age, faith and more.
Light Up Poole has a packed programme of FREE events taking place throughout Poole Town centre from 6pm and 10pm each night between Thursday 20 and Saturday 22 February. Including The Community Chandelier - where you can create your own shimmering spectrum of colour and Psychadelatron – an installation that will envelope you in a multi-layered continuous stream of light.
New for 2020 is a daytime talks programme here at Lighthouse. Highlights include astronauts from The European Space Agency, BBC’s art and cultural historian Dr Janina Ramirez and the story of Mathmos Lava Lamps: Made in Poole since 1963.
