Ilona was born in Poland, and currently lives and works in the UK. She holds MA’s from The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, (Arts and Design - 2010) and from Arts University Bournemouth (Fine Arts - 2018).
Her works were exhibited at the Society of Women Artists 2018 exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
She concentrates on mixed media paintings, which explore the socio-political 'grey' areas through a psychological lens.
The exhibition ‘An hour of my time’ contains works based on YouTube content, including documentary and short videos on slaughterhouses and ‘suggested videos’.
Using applied imagery and written word, Ilona is attempting to translate one hour of online experience from her YouTube searches into her work. ‘I am interested in the impact online experiences have on our understanding of information generated from internet searches’
