A biopic about the last years of the brilliant postimpressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Early in 1888, Van Gogh (Willem Dafoe) went into self-imposed exile in the South of France. It was there that, grappling with his own spiritual beliefs, a tumultuous relationship with the painter Gauguin (Isaac) and worsening mental illness, he developed his unique, colourful style of painting. Contains brief moderate threat.
