Music The Sherling Studio

Overview

Pianist Reiko Fujisawa celebrates the great 19th century musician Clara Wieck Schumann with a programme of works by Brahms, Chopin, Robert Schumann and Clara herself - music that Clara performed during her career as one of the major pianists of her time.

Reiko Fujisawa is renowned as an exciting and formidable virtuoso performer. After studying in Tokyo, San Francisco, and London, her playing embodies a European sensibility that has its roots in musical Japan. She is equally at home in the great Romantic repertoire as in the music of contemporary Japanese composers such as Toru Takemitsu.
