Julius Caesar

By William Shakespeare

“Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.”

Julius Caesar returns from battle to a hero’s welcome, adored and celebrated by the people of Rome. However, some of his fellow politicians are growing suspicious of his popularity and his power. As wariness turns to paranoia, assassination becomes more and more inevitable.

What happens when we can no longer trust our elected leaders? What are we willing to sacrifice in the name of democracy? When does patriotism turn in to naked ambition?

When our world feels more politically divided than ever Julius Caesar shows how the power to manipulate the masses, to incite hatred and create division is as much of a deadly weapon as a hidden dagger. This sharp and modern production thrusts the audience into the shadowy corridors of power, where murder and politics make lethal pacts.
