Overview

Director: Paddy Considine. Starring: Paddy Considine, Jodie Whittaker, Anthony Welsh. UK 2017. 92 mins.

Successful boxer Matty Burton (Paddy Considine) faces the dilemma common to many ageing sportsmen – that of when to stop. When the time comes for his final night, he gives his all against the gobby Andre Bryte (Anthony Walsh), scraping a win on points. But during the bout, Burton suffers a head injury which turns his life upside down. As with his directorial debut, Tyrannosaur, Considine’s potent second feature is about the role of selfawareness in a struggle for redemption.
