As Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, reopens to the public, its popular café The Beacon has been deep cleaned and updated with COVID-secure measures to ensure it is still home to the best bite in town.
For the first time customers will enjoy table service, but some things haven’t changed and The Beacon remains the perfect place to meet friends for lunch, pick up a morning coffee or a refreshing afternoon tea.
The popular lunchtime special offer of one meal for £5 and two for £8.95 still stands and for the month of September customers can enjoy a free refill on any hot drink. As before, The Beacon remains dedicated to using the finest local produce and ingredients wherever possible.
“It has been a lot of hard work to make The Beacon ready to open again and although things will be a little different for the time being, I know the whole team can’t wait to see friends old and new back at Lighthouse again,” explains Martyn Balson, Lighthouse General Manager.
In line with COVID-secure guidelines and the ‘We’re Good To Go’ kitemark standard, there are a few key changes to the way The Beacon works, with table service and clear screens installed at the till where contactless payment is encouraged.
Although face coverings are not necessary while eating and drinking, they are mandatory while moving through Lighthouse and The Beacon.
Additional hand sanitising stations have been installed and tables and chairs are fully cleaned between use by customers who must sit in their household or existing social bubbles.
The Beacon is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 3pm during September.
