English Touring Opera make a welcome return to Lighthouse this month with two new productions - Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience on 17 March and Puccini's masterpiece Tosca on 18 March - which we're taking a closer look at in today's blog.

When the artist Caravadossi is imprisoned for helping a revolutionary, his beloved Tosca is faced with an impossible choice; submitting to the desires of the sadistic chief of police or watching her lover be executed. This original language production (sung in Italian with English surtitles) is directed by Blanche McIntyre (Titus Andronicus - RSC, As You Like It - Globe).
