Why support Lighthouse?

Lighthouse is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity (number 275961). We receive only 25% of our income through public funding – Poole Borough Council and Arts Council England. Public funding and earned income like ticket sales are not enough to fully deliver our charitable purpose, particularly in providing learning and education activities for children, young people and our community. Our unique position in the region is therefore reliant upon securing the support of individuals and businesses to support our work.

What can your support achieve?

For over 30 years, Lighthouse has worked with more than 15,000 young people, supported hundreds of community groups and projects, and run courses, classes and workshops to enable people of all ages to enjoy and learn from the arts. Our iconic building serves Poole Borough and the wider region, offering expertise, year-round facilities and the broadest arts programme to over 200,000 each year.

With the support of generous individuals, corporates and trusts & foundations we can continue to enrich cultural life and offer educational benefit, supporting us to bring world-class performing art to the region, support emerging artists, maintain the only symphonic concert hall and independently run cinema in Dorset, subsidise 18% of tickets for the community in need and provide education programmes for local schools.

Also, for every £1 you give, we can claim an extra £1 from Arts Council England’s Catalyst Arts programme until June 2014. This means every £1 you give is worth £2 to Lighthouse and if you gift aid it then it’s worth £2.25!
