Dorset Business Awards 2009

In December 2009, Lighthouse hosted the Dorset Business Awards. Considered the most high profile annual occasion in the Dorset Business community calendar, the event recognises the successes and achievements of organisations across the county.

Brief
- The client required a full evening of catered events for 535 guests in the concert hall. This included a 3-course, silver service dinner and awards ceremony.

The Delivery
- Lighthouse worked closely with the client from initial booking confirmation to execution to ensure there was clear understanding of what was to be delivered prior to and on the evening. Throughout the 8 months of preparation, the events team worked closely with the client consulting on logistical requirements, technical assistance, catering and reception requirements and set-up arrangements.

The previous day, Lighthouse staff were hands on in all of the technical preparation on stage, dressing the main hall, reception room and setting the catering area. On the evening, 535 representatives from businesses around Dorset attended the Awards. They were served with a bespoke reception cocktail on arrival or enjoyed the private VIP reception. This was followed by a sit down 3-course meal  with coffee provided by our working partners Beales Gourmet and the awards ceremony.

Propeller Theatre Sponsors Reception – Coutts Bank

Brief - To provide a Private VIP reception prior to and during the interval of the show including catering and drinks.

The Delivery - 60 guests were invited to see the first night of Propeller's The Merchant of Venice. The Gallery space was closed off to provide a private, more intimate space and a selection of bowl food was served prior to the show as a light dinner, along with wine and canapés. Poser tables were arranged amongst the art pieces to give subjects of discussion and decorated with the flower arrangements in corporate colours. Guests were escorted to their theatre seats by their dedicated host and brought back during the interval for their mini desserts and additional refreshments.
